Message: Best selection and prices for quality hardwoods in New England and worth the trip I often make up from Rhode Island. Nice that they have "shorts" bins which is not easy to find these days.

Message: First time there shopping for some hardwood to make some open shelves—these have to be 2 inches thick, hard to find anywhere else. Large varieties of selections of wood at a very reasonable price, including a “short bin” that you pay at a discount if you are looking for some smaller pieces, still with good thickness though. VERY friendly staff and much helpful, lended us a pair of gloves when shopping as we forgot to bring ours. Kevin was also super helpful and cut our oak into exact sizes we’d like. Amazing place, great staff, thank you for keeping up the great work!

Message: Tldr: Reasonable prices, excellent customer service.. I went looking to source some wood for shelves, after looking closer to Boston for hardwoods. I had found some but the experience of buying in non-contractor amounts was lacking, to say the least. At Highland Hardwoods, it was wonderful not being treated as a nuisance. In fact, I received better customer service than I ever expected- they answered questions, pointed me in the direction of pieces I had missed (and ended up buying) and were happy to walk me through their process as a first-time customer.. As for the wood- I was pleased with the prices and amazed at the selection. Many more species than I expected and a whole section of exotic woods that I just marveled at. It was an hour-long drive to get here, but I'll definitely be making it again.

Message: Excellent selection of hardwood and very helpful staff! It's a wood heaven for any woodworker. First time seeing some of the rare exotic species. It's overwhelming at first but you simply look around to see what you want, load it onto one of the cart and ask the employee on the floor to give you a slip and pay for it at the front office. (I did it backwards the first time not knowing how to shop here.. ). Just know your 8/4, 6/4, S3S, etc so you know what you're looking at label wise! If you check out their website you'll get an idea what you can find. The place is HUGE! There are two levels of wood stacked anywhere from small to long 10'+ lumber. I believe you can get any of the rough lumber jointed for a small fee I believe.

Message: Pretty good selection of different spieces of woods, plywood around here. From local woods to exotic around 10' long, different thickness and withs. They will cut it according to your measurements. I always stop at the shelfs with shorts - 20% sale on pieces up to 3' long - different spieces.

Message: Huge selection of wood species & lumber dimensions. Familiar varieties like hard maple, cherry, & hickory as well as exotics such as purplewood, jatoba, & zebrawood. Helpful & knowledgeable staff. Highland hardwood is my go-to provider of hardwoods & is well worth the hour drive to access their large inventory of top quality hard woods.
